Why We Do This

In 2003 at
age 37, I was diagnosed with breast cancer, having
no family history of this disease. Shortly
before my 38th birthday, I was further
diagnosed with advanced breast cancer. Since I
firmly believe that everything happens for a reason, I do
all I can to raise money to find a cure for this
disease, in the hope that others will never
have to go through what I’ve been through. In August of 2004, my scrapbook group of friends (DSM Scrapbook Moms) came up with the idea of a Crop for theCure to benefit Komen. Unlike many crops in the area, we wanted every single penny from that event to be given to Komen, so all donations /fees were paid in their name. In the two years that we have held this, we have raised over $20,000 for Komen, In 2006, Yoplait recognized the Crop as a "Yoplait Champion" event. |
